The Heroine's Journey Workshop

The storyline of the traditional Hero’s Journey requires our protagonist to succeed, or fail, alone. And, regardless of whether he defeats the villain, he remains isolated and disconnected from others. In contrast, the Heroine’s Journey is one of collaboration and community.

The Heroine's Journey Workshop

About the event

The storyline of the traditional Hero’s Journey requires our protagonist to succeed, or fail, alone. And, regardless of whether he defeats the villain, he remains isolated and disconnected from others. In contrast, the Heroine’s Journey is one of collaboration and community. While there are moments of individuation, where she must struggle alone, her ultimate goal requires her to develop and strengthen the bonds she shares with others.

During this interactive workshop, we’ll explore the underlying archetypal themes in both the Heroine’s and the Hero’s journey, and how these provide possible beat points, or narrative moments, in a story’s arc.

Early versions of this workshop were so popular and successful that I am now offering updated and expanded versions of this every other month. Each session, the core material will vary. You can attend just one, or you can join them all! Either way, you’ll develop an appreciation for the template…
