All About

Amy

For over two decades, I’ve helped people unearth what they most need to express in words.

I’ve worked with writers across a wide range of lives — from incarcerated teens and unhoused adults to social justice attorneys, trans rights activists, award-winning actors, and billionaire tech CEOs. What they share is a call to write that won’t leave them alone.

I believe that when you answer that call, you can come home to yourself on the page.

Now, I bring all of that together to create spaces where people can write, connect, and discover the truths that matter most. When we come together to write, something sparks — and we leave more connected to ourselves, each other, and what we must express.

My Offerings Include

I. Hosting Group Sessions

We come together to write — and to witness and be witnessed in that process.

a. Writing Jams

Writing Jams are online and in-person gatherings where we pour our words onto the page.

Through guided free-writing exercises, you move past the inner critic and into discovery. You’re invited (never required) to share what you write.

b. Writing Salons

Writing Salons are small, curated groups that meet over a series of sessions.

Here, the work deepens.

We write together, share works-in-progress, and offer thoughtful, precise feedback.
Short craft explorations support the process, but the heart of the Salon is doing your own work alongside others who are equally committed to theirs.

Before joining a Salon, you attend a Writing Jam and become familiar with the Guidelines for Participation.

c. Writing Retreats

These intimate retreats offer the chance to step out of daily life and invest in your writing.

Over three days, we gather in a beautiful setting to write, share, and deepen our relationship to our own work.

There is structure — guided sessions, craft exploration, shared meals — and there is space: to walk, to rest, to listen for what’s ready to emerge.

d. Teen-Focused Sessions

These sessions give teens a place to write, take risks, and be heard.

Through prompts, writing, and sharing, they find their voice.

They are witnessed, taken seriously, and met without judgment as they explore the stories only they can tell.

II. One-on-One Story Doula Work

Some stories change your life when you write them.

Not because they’re polished.

Because they’re true.

Most people don’t finish these stories.

Not because they can’t write
but because they can’t stay.

They lose the thread.

They second-guess.

They turn away when it gets close to something real.

I don’t let you do that.

As your Story Doula, I work with you one-on-one to help you bring your most essential story into the world.

I read with precision. I listen for what matters. I challenge you when you drift away from the truth of your own work.

This is a collaboration — but it’s also a commitment.

To the story.

To the process.

To the version of you that exists on the other side of writing it.

Together, we shape your work into something that is not just finished, but alive.
