All About
Amy
I've spent the past twenty years working on social impact projects and cultivating my relationship with the craft of writing. To deepen my understanding of the power of the written word, I studied creative writing in graduate school, worked as a literary escort for many of our greatest living authors, and served on the author hosting team at the iconic Cody’s books in Berkeley.
I’ve published my own writings, and I’ve supported many people in putting their own stories down on the page.
A few years ago, I centered my love for writing. I put down the projects that had taken precedence over it, pulled it out of the periphery of my life, and committed to writing the stories that have been waiting for me. I also built ‘Writing One True Thing,’ a business devoted to helping others deepen their relationship to the transformative power of writing.
Through “Writing One True Thing”
I. I host group sessions where we come together to carve our worlds into meaning with words.
a. Writing Jams are online gatherings where we play with our words on the page. We complete a series of free-writing exercises, and everyone is welcome (but not required) to share what they write. Read more about the Guidelines for Participation.
b. Writing Salons are curated groups where we meet for several two-hour sessions to complete free-writing exercises, share working material for feedback, and engage in short, interactive craft lessons. Before joining a Writing Salon, you must attend a Writing Jam Session and be familiar with the Guidelines for Participation.
II. I work as a Book Doula to help people write their books.
In this capacity, I help you commit to crafting the stories that are waiting for you to write them.
