Service Description

Teen Writing Salons are six-session online gatherings where you find the space to be yourself and the tools to share your truths with the world. Each weekly session becomes a place where your authentic voice meets other young writers ready to listen, witness, and celebrate what you create. Over six weeks, we dig into what you really want to say, building courage to speak your reality one session at a time. We believe in the power of your perspective and the stories only you can tell. Each 90-minute gathering starts with grounding meditation to center ourselves. Then we write. I share a prompt, we write freely, and you're invited to read what emerged—no pressure, just possibility. We also set goals together and create space for the poems, stories, or pieces you've been working on outside our circle. Your drafts, your questions, your creative risks all belong here. This is your space to show up as you are. Share when you're ready, absorb when you need to. When you do offer your words—whether sparked by a prompt or pulled from your journal—you'll find peers who recognize what's real in your writing, what moves, what matters. We focus on what makes your voice yours. We witness each other becoming braver with our truth-telling, watching six weeks transform how boldly you claim your words on the page. We'll start each session getting centered: deep breaths, checking in with themselves, and setting intentions. Then they'll get a prompt and write for 10 minutes alongside other young writers. Want to share what they wrote? Cool. Want to keep it private? Also cool. We'll do as many rounds as time allows. All voices matter here. They can share when it feels right, stay silent when they need to. When they do read read what they’ve written, they'll find other young people who actually listen. Who hear what's real, what’s brave, what makes them feel something. Everyone focuses on what resonates, what brings energy. This isn't English class. Nobody's grading grammar or looking for the "right" answer. Each person gets to create something from nothing. Together with their peers, they'll take chances and witness what spills out when people write their truth—the messy, beautiful, real stuff that they carry. Sophie Lewis will co-facilitate this session. A recent graduate of Scripps College, Sophie began her journey as a writer in her teens under Amy’s mentorship.

Upcoming Sessions

Cancellation Policy

Attendance: During a six-week session, you should plan to miss no more than two sessions. Of course, life happens. Things outside of your control can derail your plans. Sickness strikes, funerals must be attended, etc. But please do not sign up for a salon where you know – ahead of time – that you will miss over two sessions. Also, if you cannot join us, or if you must be late, please communicate with me as soon as possible. I hold space for your presence if I expect you to be with us. Refund Policy: All sales are final. There are no refunds or prorated rates for attending partial sessions. If you have extenuating circumstances, please reach out to me. I’m always happy to make concessions for reasonable reasons.
